We've scheduled a Motor Fuels Tax Rules Meeting for Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 800 Park Blvd, Plaza IV, Boise ID 83702 (Room 1CR5).

Prescription eyeglasses exempt from sales tax as of July 1

A new law exempts purchases of prescription eyeglasses and eyeglass component parts from the sales tax as of July 1, 2015. Purchases of prescription contact lenses are exempt from sales tax as of July 1, 2016. For more information, see House Bill 75.

Estimate your property taxes at tax.idaho.gov

BOISE, IDAHO — June 8, 2015 — Residents in 20 Idaho counties can estimate their 2015 property taxes by visiting the Idaho State Tax Commission’s website at tax.idaho.gov. The “Quick Picks” section on the home page links to a calculator that allows taxpayers to estimate what they will owe. (Read more)

Tax Commission opens Lewiston office on April 15

LEWISTON, IDAHO — April 9, 2015 — The Idaho State Tax Commission will open its Lewiston office to the public on Wednesday, April 15 to help taxpayers meet the income tax filing deadline. The office is located at 1118 F St. and is normally open only on the 20th day of each month. (Read more)

Save a stamp, drop off tax returns at Tax Commission’s curbside service April 15

BOISE, IDAHO — April 9, 2015 — Last-minute tax filers in the Boise area can drop off their state income tax returns without getting out of their car. The Idaho State Tax Commission will offer its annual curbside service to taxpayers from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. The Tax Commission is located in Boise at 800 Park Blvd., Plaza IV (the Washington Group Complex). Individual income tax returns and payments are due April 15. (Read more)
