BOISE, IDAHO — Feb. 3, 2015 — Did you know you have the right to ask the Idaho State Tax Commission to cancel penalties if you can show reasonable cause for not complying with the law? Did you know you have the right to request a refund for up to three years after the due date of a tax return? These rights and others are outlined in a new Idaho Taxpayer Rights brochure published by the Tax Commission. (Read more)

BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 28, 2015 — According to AARP research, just under half of the more than 55,000 Idahoans eligible for a reduction in their property taxes actually apply for this discount. And the Idaho State Tax Commission and AARP Idaho want to make more people aware of the benefit that’s available to low-income seniors and others who qualify. (Read more)

BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 20, 2015 — Idaho residents who don’t normally make enough money to file an income tax return can still get a refund of the grocery tax credit for 2014. The tax credit, which offsets the sales tax on groceries, is $100 for most Idaho residents who aren’t required to file an income tax return, plus $100 for each of their dependents. Residents age 65 and older get $20 more. (Read more)
