Tax Commission News Release
Get state tax help online and by phone
BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 13, 2011 — Taxpayers who need help with their 2010 income tax returns should visit tax.idaho.gov to get tax forms, find answers to tax questions, and make payments. They can also call the Idaho State Tax Commission at 334-7660 in the Boise area or toll free at (800) 972-7660 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mountain Time.
As of January 2011, Tax Commission field offices are no longer providing customer service at the front counters. These offices include Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Lewiston, Pocatello, and Twin Falls.
“Our field offices had been offering customer service only on the 20th of each month, but this one-day-a-month opening proved more confusing than helpful,” said Dan John, tax policy manager.
Taxpayers can still drop off payments, returns, and correspondence in drop boxes available in the field office lobbies from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those who have an ongoing collection or audit case can make an appointment to meet with Tax Commission staff at these offices.
The Boise office continues to offer daily walk-in service.
