Tax Commission News Release
Tax Commission reopens Pocatello office four days a week
POCATELLO, IDAHO — August 24, 2011 — The Idaho State Tax Commission has reopened its doors to the public in Pocatello. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for walk-in service at 611 Wilson Ave., Suite 5. Taxpayers can get answers to their tax questions, assistance in filling out forms, and more.
A drop box will remain inside the building entrance for those who just need to drop off a tax payment or correspondence. The drop box is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We closed our offices to the public a year ago to consolidate taxpayer service into our call center, which allowed our field offices to concentrate on recovering revenue for the state,” said Tax Commissioner David Langhorst. “Since then, we’ve found that we can do both and still offer personal service to taxpayers at our offices on a more limited basis.”
Taxpayers throughout the state can get their questions answered by calling (800) 972-7660 toll free. Phone service is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
